The weather should have been on the Italians side, it was hot and sticky more suited to the Italian players than the Scots, however has one Scottish assault after another bombarded the Italian goal seeking the equaliser to the early Italian goal the italian players looked a bedraggled bunch with half an hour to go Gemmell scored the goal that levelled the tie, Italian hearts were broken and the end was almost inevitable as the lions of Lisbon once more went on the offensive one almost felt sorry for the Italian giants and when Chalmers scored the winning goal with five minutes of the tie left you almost wished the referee would stop the tie and put the sorry bunch of Inter players out of their misery.
